Computer Science


The Department of Computer Science (in short DCS) is an organisational department at the  FH Vorarlberg which provides teaching for all courses in Computer Science / IT and mathematics. In addition to this central role in teaching, research and development in the computer science and mathematics sectors is the most important function of the DCS.

Teaching

Teaching is the most important function of the Department. In topic terms the teaching is focused on computer science and is based on the learning objectives of individual courses. DCS sets great store on high-quality and the latest developments in teaching. This is guaranteed through innovative didactics, individual evaluation, appointing qualified male and female staff and the coordination is guaranteed by the course leader and also the research activity of DCS staff members.

Research and development

Research and development are applied and carried out at academic level. R and D is always seen in the context of teaching. In cooperation with companies and academic organisations practice oriented theory-based R&D development projects are implemented.
These are carried out either directly in the DCS or through the research centres. In addition to regional networking, international networking also takes place.
