Specialisation for personal profiling
In the 5th and 6th semester, the students will select two specialisations from the 4 internationally oriented offers:
- International finance
- International marketing
- International human resources management
- Supply chain management
Select students have the opportunity to form their own company in the 5th and 6th semester as part of their specialisation in
- business development.

This triad outlines the core competencies that you will acquire in the degree programme of International Business at the FHV.
- General business administration competency
You are capable of independently completing general business administrative tasks in the areas of finance, marketing, production, logistics and human resources management as an academically trained expert and evaluating the impact of your action from the perspective of the entire company.
- Process and project management competency
You developed a process-oriented way of looking at business processes and decision processes and are able to implement complex and innovative tasks with the instruments of project management.
- IT management competency
You will acquire the expertise to consider opportunities and risks in the use of modern software solutions and to evaluate and launch them successfully.
- Social competency
You will successfully acquire and develop the social competency to work in teams, to coordinate independent work in teams, to understand customer needs, to communicate with customers and team members and form networks.
- Intercultural competency
Besides your professional qualifications, the degree programme will also let you gain the necessary intercultural competencies to act successfully in an international corporate environment.
- Research competency
Your areas of expertise will also include the designing of research work as well as doing the research and summarising it. You are capable of following academic discourse in all areas of business administration.
