Semester abroad and internship
Studying abroad
Part of the degree programme also includes giving students the opportunity to spend
a semester studying at one of the many partner universities of
the FH Vorarlberg.
The international network at the FH Vorarlberg has been continuously expanded
in recent years so that a broad range of student exchange places are ensured
around the world.
You will receive more detailed information on the
subject of studying abroad from the International
Office.
In the 4th semester of the InterMedia degree programme, students can go to our
partner universities or spend a semester here in Dornbirn studying together
with guest students from around the world. The 4th semester of the degree programme InterMedia is completely offered in English language.
Internship
Get to know the work world directly and learn implementation skills
An internship gives you insight into the world of media production, be it in the for-profit or non-profit sector, where either monetary or social capital is created. Projects, customer orientation, deadlines, team processes are experienced up close.
Internship positions
The university does
not arrange internships. The internship is an occasion to study the labour
market and actively approach agents, media companies or design offices in
Germany or abroad. Preparation for the application phase is offered in the
course "English for Applications", in which the application phases
are explained and practised.
Length of internship
The internship for the bachelor's degree programme in InterMedia lasts at least
10 weeks. It takes place between the 4th and 5th semester and can be completed
in Germany or abroad. The lectures in the 5th semester begin after 1 November
of the year.
Transferring credits
An exemption for the internship (=crediting of internship) is only possible if
relevant training was completed before the degree programme or the student has
many years of experience in the industry. An informal application is to be
submitted to the Head of the Degree Programme with a copy of the final
certificate or the proof of work. The Head of the Degree Programme will then
decide whether the internship can be credited.
