Occupational profiles of graduates
Creative people in the media industry conceive and develop print products, design websites or create video films. They work on the form of communication, the cultivation of transport channels, the ability to understand the messages and their readability. You are very conscious of media's effect and protect its ethical responsibility.
The creation of media happens in the exciting field of
creativity, technology and business. It requires that people think across
disciplines, design in a goal-oriented way and act responsibly.
Professional areas of work for graduates of the degree programme in InterMedia are strewn across multiple fields that include in particular the following areas:
- Conception and content: conception, scriptwriting, editing, content management
- Design: media design, information design, screen design, directing
- Implementation: graphics, asset management, project/production management, external and studio recording, programming (particularly in the web coding)
- Organisation: responsibility for communication, marketing, public relations
- Consulting: media consulting, project management
- Research & development: academic assistance, project collaboration or management with regard to theoretical, applied or legal aspects on subjects such as usability, design, media communication, streamlining, e-learning in research departments and academic facilities
For the last two areas of work, additional qualifications are usually required. These are offered in the master's degree programme in InterMedia.
Graduates of the InterMedia degree programme can be found everywhere. From the design studio in Vorarlberg to the television station in Vienna or the animation professionals in Wellington. InterMedia professionals also remain closely connected via their own networks such as facebook and XING, and remain a strong community in the creative economy.
