Financial support for students
It is highly recommended to check the different options in advance and in detail, since the grants available do have different and very specific requirements. It is also very important to apply in a professional way for grants as the quality of the application in general is very important.
Grants for students from European Partner Universities
Students from European partner universities can apply for an Erasmus grant. For more information, please contact your home university.
Grants for students from Non-European Countries
Students from non-European countries might be eligible to apply for one of the different grants offered in Austria.
Grant Database
An overview to all the grants offered for students from abroad can be found in the Grant Database of the Austrian Exchange Service. Please note that the different grants offered have very specific requirements so it would be necessary to check the programmes offered very carefully.
We also recommend non-European students to check the eligibility for the following grant options (information also available in the grant database), as the grants mentioned below are specially designed for studying at a University of Applied Sciences in Austria.
Ernst Mach Grant for students from non-European countries for studying at an Austrian University of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule)
Students coming to Austria to study for a semester or a year have the possibility to apply for the Ernst Mach Grant. One of the requirements is that the student applying for the grant must be at least in his/her 4th semester of studies.
Please note that you first need to apply for being admitted as an exchange student at Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences. Only then you can apply for the grant via the Grant Database. As the deadline for the grant application is quite early, it is highly recommended to proceed with the applications as soon as possible. For more information, you are welcome to contact the International Office of Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences.
