Insurance

 

Each guest student is responsible for his or her own adequate insurance protection.

Please note that it is absolutely necessary to have comprehensive insurance protection for illness and accident before entering Austria. In order to show that you have this insurance protection, it is required to present the relevant documents before starting the studies. Please also consider that Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences does not offer any insurance coverage and also no health care facilities for students. Besides this each student is responsible for any damages caused by him or herself. Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences is also not liable for any loss or damage to personal property, or injuries to persons caused by third parties on its premises.
 

Illness- and Accident Insurance

For the whole duration of the stay in Austria a valid and sufficient insurance protection for illness and accident is needed.

It is highly recommended to all students to contact their own health-care provider before departure to find out which insurance protection is available and what is needed for a full-insurance protection in Austria.

Many EU citizens already have this insurance protection. If this is the case it is necessary to bring along the insurance form E-128 or the e-card.

Students who have a private insurance need to consider that the payments for doctors and hospital service need to be made directly. Afterwards it will be necessary to ask their home insurance for reimbursement.
 

Supplementary Insurance

It is highly recommended that guest students also obtain a general liability insurance which covers damages caused to third parties and at the accommodation.

Handicapped Accessible
