e-Learning Competence at FH Vorarlberg

Professors from medical faculties in Egypt, Morocco and Jordan visited Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences for a two and a half-day workshop, in which they were informed about the newest developments in eLearning.

This workshop took place within a project funded by the EU with the goal of implementing quality measures in health facilities as well as the equivalent education of management. The Workshop leader Mag. (FH) Frank Weber stressed: “We would like to enable the participants to integrate eLearning components into their teaching without large budgets, so that they can offer their knowledge to students without regard to time and location.”

Besides business issues, the workshop gave all the participants an opportunity to apply and practice various eLearning tools.

At Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences, the use of eLearning in teaching and the enhancement of eLearning competence have been supported by the eLearning Lab since May 2002. The eLearning lab consists of researchers from different departments, which means that engineering, design and didactical competences and expertise come together. The eLearning Lab at Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences is a member of the “Verein Neue Medien in der Lehre Österreich” (an Austrian society for the use of new media in teaching in Austria) which means that the university works closely with other Austrian Universities and Universities of Applied Sciences.
