Key learning outcomes

Social work takes diverse complex relationships between people, groups and communities and their environment into account.

The degree programme in Social Work gives students professional / cognitive and practical / action-oriented competencies:

 

  • for the life and world of people: knowledge and the analysis of features of social work and the socio-economic context

 

  • scientifically based analysis of social problem situations

 

  • knowledge about the (socio)historical, theoretical and professional fundamentals

 

  • fundamental knowledge about the structure, general institutional conditions and the dynamic of organisations

 

  • fundamental knowledge in the many relevant reference sciences such as law, sociology and psychology

 

  • basis competency with regard to methods / approaches to social work
