Research projects from real life

Students can submit concrete research projects. The submissions are reviewed and the selected projects are conducted as part of the course "Research Projects":

Criteria for the submission of a project recommendation:

The project sketch provides a brief summary of the general starting point which prompts a tentative academic question. The working title and question are specified in more detail at the beginning of the project in the summer semester.

It involves a real research and development project, which has a complex social-scientific and practical context.

The project pursues a task and issue, and qualitative and/or quantitative methods of empirical social research are applied for its resolution. Furthermore, the project can also have other communicative and/or activating portions. The focus, however, is on the application of concrete research methodology.

The project is suited for group work for seven students.

The project takes place at a concrete social institution, community or agency (name of the organisation). The organisation ensures a flat cost of no more than € 500 per project (for additional travel costs in the country that are not from and to the FHV and/or other requisite material and operating costs). These financial resources are managed independently by the project group during its implementation and invoiced to the organisation.

The organisation names a contact person for the project implementation phase, which is to be clarified with the student submitting the project (identification of the surname and first name of the contact).
