Why study Social Work?

Social work is serving the people

Social work is an internationally recognised profession and a specialisation that addresses reducing social problems and enabling people in difficult situations to take a greater part in society.

People and society in all their facets, peculiarities and characteristics, with all their problems and conflicts in various forms of life, are the focus of the bachelor’s degree programme in Social Work. It is not easy to do justice to disadvantaged people and find good solutions. Listening and watching carefully as well as a strong ability to empathise are the most important skills in social work.

The degree programme in Social Work prepares its students in a professionally, methodologically, practically and personally oriented way so that they will support people, groups and the community in autonomously determining  and humanly mastering their (collective) life.
