ECTS credit allocation and ECTS

The degree programmes at the FH Vorarlberg are designed so that the annual work of a student does not exceed 1,500 hours. 1 ECTS credit corresponds to 25 hours of work.

The evaluation of individual performance with ECTS credits is done as part of the curriculum design in coordination with the appropriate teaching staff.

As part of quality assurance in the degree programmes, regular, systematic surveys of the students' workload are taken both on the level of the individual courses and with regard to the entire degree programme. If there are serious deviations between the actual amount of learning and the allocation of ECTS credits, the university will react accordingly. If a change/reduction in the workload is not sufficient only through didactic measures in the course in question (e.g. less homework, lower amount of self-learning) in order to achieve the planned course objectives, there is also the possibility of adjusting the curriculum overall by submitting a change application to the crediting agency (FHR - Austrian Council of Universities of Applied Sciences).
