Recognition of prior learning
General arrangements for the recognition of prior learning (formal, informal and non-formal).
The principle of course-related recognition applies with regard to the recognition of earlier credits. The equivalence of the acquired knowledge and the requirement profile with regard to the content and scope of the courses to be exempted shall be determined upon application by the student. All decisions regarding the recognition are made by the programme director. Passed examinations will be recognised upon the establishment of equivalence. A review of the knowledge is not planned in these cases.
Particular knowledge and/or experience from professional practice is considered in connection with the transfer of courses or professional internships, likewise upon application by the student; this shall apply in particular to part-time degree programmes and parts of degree programmes.
Students have to submit the application of recognition to the programme director within 14 days following the date of commencement of the course, which has to be recognised
The student is required to supply evidence of the equivalence of his/her knowledge with regard to the academic demands, the scope and the content of the relevant course.
