Specific admission requirements
The following formal requirements must be fulfilled for admission to the degree programme in Computer Science at the FH Vorarlberg:
- general university entrance examination or
- study entitlement examination in Computer Science or
- subject-specific training with additional examinations in German (essay on a general subject), English 1 and Mathematics 3 or
- German university entrance qualification (subject-specific) with additional examinations in German (essay on a general subject), English 1 and Mathematics 3.
- for graduates with subject-specific HTLs (technical college degree), there is the possibility of entering directly in the 2nd semester; it is also possible to enter the 3rd semester if you were awarded a Matura with distinction.
Knowledge of German and English at the Matura level (Austrian general qualification for university entrance) is a prerequisite for admission to the degree programme.
Study entitlement examination
This provides the opportunity to study at a university or FH without having a Matura. Johannes-Kepler-University in Linz offers a university course to prepare for this study entitlement examination - this course is held at the Bregenz European Study Centre. The following examinations are required for admission to the degree programme in Computer Science: German, English 1, Mathematics 3, Physics 1, an elective. Some of these courses can also be taken online.
