Women in Computer Science

Technology is no longer a matter for men

Precisely young women that are choosing a career use modern communication technologies with great ease. Furthermore, women possess a high degree of logical-analytical mental capabilities as well as social competency and communication skills. These are exactly the skills that are necessary for a technical degree programme.

Work in teams

The reticence of many women to join a degree programme in Computer Science is often based on an incorrect picture of the profession. Many A-level graduates believe that computer scientists only sit at the computer and have nothing to do with people. That is not correct. Computer science is teamwork and based on networking. It helps to link yourself with other people and keep up social contacts.

Computer scientists

  • work on concepts
  • work in a team
  • work on projects
  • use programming languages as a tool

Designing the future

Right now there is already a general lack of engineers and in particular female engineers, which will continue over the next few years. For this reason, we urge women to consider this professional goal. They should be not only users, but also experts that shape the direction and form of technical developments.
