Robustness, Validity and Significance of the ECB’s Asset Quality Review and Stress Test Exercise
T. Breuer, Oktober 2014
Provided in advance of the Economic Dialogue with the Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Single Supervisory Mechanism in ECON on 3 November 2014.
This paper was requested by the European Parliament's Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee.
Abstract: This Analysis presents in plain language the main features of the Asset Quality Review and the EU-wide stress test 2014 and discusses some key issues in the interpretation of the forthcoming 2014 stress test results. It comments on selected policy issues in the implementation of the asset quality review and the stress tests into supervisory processes.
