The Silicon Valley Mindset is not local to California. It is a creation of entrepreneurial cultures from around the world. When entrepreneurs have not been able to realize dreams within their own local residence due to lack of opportunity, small market size, local customs, lack of capital or other reasons - they’ve emigrated to Silicon Valley.

This talk discusses the history of Silicon Valley, how it started and how it became the Mecca for entrepreneurship that it is today. It also takes a look at what it means to become a center for entrepreneurship in regions outside the US. Finally, Rick Rasmussen will offer recommendations on how to shape the political, educational and cultural issues that could potentially expand opportunities for regional economic development.
