Covid-19 information for international students

Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences has been welcoming international students throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. Please be assured that our university will do the utmost possible to realize safe study experiences in Austria!

Although the overall Covid-19 situation has been improving, it is still possible that restrictions might be re-introduced if necessary. Please consider that travel restrictions and different entry requirements might apply for different countries of origin.

Therefore, it is very important that you inform yourself individually which regulations are valid for you, you can find helpful information below:

  • You can find an overview regarding the entry and quarantine regulations as well as the necessary pre-travel clearance at the following link
  • In case you need to apply for a visa and/or residence permit for entering Austria please contact the respective Austrian Embassy by email directly in any case even though the website of the embassy may state that they are closed, because the situation can change any time. Also, for students, scholars and researchers there is still often the possibility to file the application for a visa or a residence. You can also find detailed information on the website of the OeAD, Austria's Agency for Education and Internationalisation.

  • Teaching at Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences during the COVID-19 pandemic: As it is not possible to predict how the COVID-19 situation will develop, please be aware that it might be necessary to offer distance learning or a combination of on-campus courses and distance teaching.
