Data protection information for prospective students (according to Art. 13 GDPR)

FH Vorarlberg handles your personal data carefully and conscientiously. When processing data, we observe national and European statutory data protection provisions.
Purpose of data processing, data categories:
We process the contact data, which you send to us in connection with an event, such as a student information fair, an enquiry by email, via our website or through personal contact accordingly, in order to inform you about our education and training programmes. We use your data in order to send information about the study programme(s) you are interested in. Moreover, we inform you about events and offers for prospective students. If information events about the courses offered by FH Vorarlberg are held using video conference systems, your personal data required for this purpose may also be processed. We process names, title, title, e-mail addresses, residential address, date of birth, telephone number, interest in studying, planned start of studies, type of initial contact, declarations of consent and all other data prospective students provide us with. Your data are processed automatically in this connection.
You provide us with the data for the execution of precontractual measures, i.e. for your possible participation in the application process for a university place (as well as for the associated education contract).
The use of your data for the transmission of interesting information about events of the FH Vorarlberg is a legitimate interest of FH Vorarlberg, whereby the legitimate interest of FH Vorarlberg lies in its education mandate and in its competitive position (c.f. Recital 47 of the GDPR, www.privacy-regulation.eu/en/r47.htm). You can object to this processing for direct marketing purposes at any time by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. In this case, the lawfulness of processing prior to the objection will remain unaffected.
The provision of your personal data is neither required by law nor by contract, and there is no obligation to do so. However, the provision of your personal data is necessary for the transmission of information about the studies you are interested in and, if necessary, for the conclusion of the education contract. If you do not provide us with the necessary data, we will not be able to process your requests.
The collected data are only used by and forwarded to FH Vorarlberg staff internally.
You can subscribe to a newsletter for the areas you have selected. To this end, it is necessary to disclose your email address to us and to declare your consent to receive the newsletter. In addition to your name and email address, other information such as your stated interests will be stored with your consent to receive the newsletter.
You can withdraw the request to receive information or your newsletter subscription at any time by emailing email@example.com. Your data will then be deleted, unless statutory provisions necessitate continued storage in individual cases. The lawfulness of data processing conducted prior to the withdrawal is not affected.
Your data will continue to be stored for as long as you are in contact with us. The data will be deleted if we do not receive a response from you for a period of three years. Notwithstanding the above, we reserve the right to also delete your data at an earlier date.
Your data protection rights according to GDPR:
We wish to inform you of your following rights to information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing as well as objection to processing with respect to your personal data in accordance with the statutory framework. Should you have any queries or requests in this connection, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
In the event that data processing is based on consent, you may withdraw this consent at any time also by emailing email@example.com. If data processing is based on the legitimate interests of FH Vorarlberg, you may object to this processing and include your reasons for the objection, however the lawfulness of data processing conducted prior to withdrawal or objection shall remain unaffected.
If you believe data processing to be unlawful, we ask that you contact us by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Moreover, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority, the Austrian Data Protection Authority.
