Data Protection Information for Users of eResources

Dear Users of eResources

We would like to point out that, in accordance with Library Regulations, it is the responsibility of users of eResources to comply with the applicable terms of use. We recommend that users also carefully read the data protection policies of the providers of the eResources they are using.

If, when using eResources, users have the option of setting up an account or an online bibliography, signing up for alerts or, otherwise, of entering personal or business data (email addresses, names, addresses etc.), they do so at their own risk.

The data protection policies of eResource providers list data residency. If the data is stored in a non-EU member state and there is no adequacy agreement with the EU, that state does not offer an adequate level of data protection. This means that data protection may not be ensured and that the rights of persons affected might also not be guaranteed.

The EU has so far adopted an adequacy decision regarding data protection regulations for Andorra, Argentina, the Faroe Islands, Guernsey, the Ilse of Man, Israel, Jersey, Canada, New Zealand, Switzerland and Uruguay, and the Privacy Shield for the USA, in so far as the company is a member of the Privacy Shield framework.

Please note that, within the scope permitted by law, you have the right to access, rectify and delete your personal data as well as the rights to restrict and to object to the processing of your personal data. Enquiries and requests should be sent to datenschutz@fhv.at.

You have the right to file a complaint about the illegal processing of data with the Austrian Data Protection Agency (Wickenburggasse 8, 1080 Vienna, Austria, Tel. +43 1 52 152-0, Email: dsb@dsb.gv.at), which is the responsible supervisory authority.

Unless otherwise stipulated by law, the liability of FH Vorarlberg GmbH is excluded for the use of eResources.

Responsible for data processing: Fachhochschule Vorarlberg GmbH, Campus V, Hochschulstrasse 1, 6850 Dornbirn, Austria, E-Mail:  info@fhv.at.

For questions and enquiries relating to data protection at FH Vorarlberg, please email the Data Protection Officer at datenschutz@fhv.at.
