How can I use the library?

Our library is accessible to the public. Individuals who are not members of FH Vorarlberg require a valid library card.

In general, the library provides the following services and facilities:

  • You may use any media form on the premises of the library. The library offers workstations with computers for research, workstations in the reading room, study rooms and a periodicals area for your use.

  • You may borrow media. Books may be borrowed for four weeks and CDs and DVDs may be borrowed for seven days. You may renew materials twice as long as the medium has not been requested by someone else. Certain media (e.g. newspapers and periodicals from the current year, material that is set aside as key texts for a semester, dictionaries) belong to the non-lending reference collection and may only be viewed from within the library.

  • Literature that is not present in the library may be requested through interlibrary loan. There is a fee for this service.

  • You can access more than 26,500 e-books, thousands of e-journals and various specialist databases from within the library. Students and employees of FH Vorarlberg may also access these media from off campus.
