Collaboration with regional companies

Students and lecturers of business economics collaborate with regional companies in various ways. Together with many different companies, we have successfully implemented projects in the Project Workshop, researched business-relevant topics in depth through bachelor’s or master’s theses, and organised on-site teaching activities during company visits. Various well-known regional companies support research in business economics by participating in focus groups, discussion round tables, and much more. As a University of Applied Sciences, working together with businesses and providing practically oriented education for our students on behalf of regional businesses are especially important. Our students “understand what makes businesses tick”.

Transfer

Colleagues from the Department of Business and Management engage in a multifaceted transfer of knowledge and experience. As well as a commitment to further education, this includes part-time consulting activities.

Key areas of activity include

  • coaching & mediation,
  • simulation & gaming,
  • accompaniment of participatory development processes,
  • accompaniment of change processes,
  • market research topics,
  • coaching to develop business ideas according to the lean start-up method,
  • presentations, e.g. on the digital transformation, founding businesses,
  • organisation of reflective communications,
  • joint decision-making procedures,
  • and much more.

Further development of knowledge in business economics

Many department colleagues participate in research projects and have authored a range of publications. This includes textbooks, contributions to teaching and specialised books, articles in subject journals, or papers for international conferences. The knowledge gained from research is often directly incorporated into lectures. Projects frequently unfold in collaboration with colleagues from other research centres at FH Vorarlberg. An especially intensive relationship is maintained with the research centre business informatics.
