The Department of Design is concerned with every aspect of visual communication and design. Designing as we understand it always relates to a certain object. The design of objects, processes, relations, and situations seeks to open up new ways of thinking and acting. Each detail is also an aspect that determines an overarching context. Thus, design also always involves cooperation with others.
The Department of Design is responsible for the InterMedia programmes, actively contributes to design research, and ensures a transfer of knowledge to society, the economy, and the industry by means of specialised presentations and symposia.
This programme offers the opportunity to study a self-chosen topic or questioning relevant to a company over six semesters. Lecturers and mentors with extensive experience help students to give form to their ideas.
The increasing importance of design in many fields combined with rapid technological development results in a wide variety of questions. Students search for answers to these questions in self-chosen areas over four semesters.
