Collaborative robotics

Modern, collaborative robots have torque sensors to measure and monitor the forces and torques impacting the robot. Using sophisticated measuring and control systems, it is possible to determine process forces during ongoing operations or to record and reliably control forces that occur as a result of a direct interaction between humans and robots. In the field of collaborative robotics, the Digital Factory Vorarlberg research center is currently developing methods for the compensation of joining tolerances, for in-situ measurements of joining forces for quality control or for the improvement of gripping situations through machine learning algorithms.
