The industry of the future must be data-based, energy efficient and sustainable. The present project creates the necessary know-how in research and development to support Vorarlberg's industry on this path.

Project Goal

The aim of the project is to establish an interdisciplinary research team at the interface between the Research Centre Energy and the Research Centre Digital Factory Vorarlberg.

The scientists will focus on the industry of the future in the areas of digitalisation, energy and sustainability. In these areas, the team will play a pioneering and trend-setting role through innovative ideas and concepts, thus, being a scientific driving force in the region. By strengthening the interface between the two research centres, a new platform for future research projects with regional companies is being created at Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences.

The ideas, concepts and methods will be directly integrated into teaching, so that the results will also benefit regional companies that employ graduates of the UAS Vorarlberg.

We therefore train future employees of the region adequately with regard to future challenges and offer Vorarlberg's industry a competence centre for its research and development issues.

The project is scheduled to run until 31.01.2023.

Funding

The project is funded by the "European Regional Development Fund" (ERDF) and the State of Vorarlberg within the framework of the EU program "Investments in Growth and Employment in Austria 2014-2020".
