The following documents are required to complete your application:

  • The online application form
  • Cover letter (motivation letter)
  • Curriculum vitae in tabular format (résumé, vita)
  • Evidence of general university entrance qualifications (High School Diploma or equivalent)
  • Completion of a Bachelor‘s degree or equivalent 
    • Transcript of Records – performance overview
    • Diploma certificate
    • Bachelor's/Master's degrees, diploma examination certificates or diplomas
  • Diploma supplement: if available
  • Proof of at least two years professional experience (certificate of employment, employment contract)
  • If your native language is other than English, you need to provide evidence of your English proficiency (at least level B2 based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
  • Copy of your passport
  • Recent portrait photo

Please be aware, that all required documents issued in non-EU / EEA countries may need some form of legalisation and translation and need to be presented at the time of application. In case your original documents are not in English or German, please do always upload the original document AND the translation!

Regulations for applicants with international certificates/documents

Proof of higher education at an institution in another country need to be legalised. Guidelines for legalisation and translation can be found under International.

The admission procedure consists of two stages:

Stage 1Stage 1 includes the preliminary examination of your documents, in particular the evaluation of your motivation letter, your achievements in the preliminary studies as well as your professional experience.

The best candidates from the rankings in stage 1 will be admitted to stage 2.
Stage 2 Stage 2 consists of an one-hour structured interview (on campus or online) conducted by two experts. The interview covers the following topics 
  • personal motivation to study,
  • professional experience,
  • previous specialist knowledge,
  • organisational prerequisites.

To prepare for the discussion in the field of previous specialist knowledge you will receive a selected assignment before the interview.

Evaluation of language skills can be based on TOEFL ITP, IELTS or Cambridge First Certificate not older than 4 years by start of study. Applications without independent English Test, language proficiency will be judged by interviewers.

The best 15 applicants will be admitted.

Admission milestones:

November 15th to May 15thYou can submit your online-application consecutively from November 15th to May 15th

Application for Non-EU/EEA countries (except Switzerland): November 15th to March 1st

The application deadline for applicants coming from and living in third-party states (Non-EU/EEA, except Switzerland) is March 1st! The duration for applying and obtaining a visa and/or residence permit my vary by country of origin. We recommend that you inform yourself as soon as possible about necessary procedures and corresponding lead-times
Early stage Admission: 
Deadline March 1st
 
  • If you apply earlier or by 1 March, you will start the admission procedure earlier. An early acceptance is possible depending on the result of the admission procedure.
 
Regular stage Admission:  
Deadline May 15th
 
  • If you are applying between March 1st and May 15th you will participate in the admission procedure in May/June.
  • All further acceptances will be announced after the application deadline (15 May).
