Your application to a regular degree programme at Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences!

The following documents are required to complete your application:

  • The online application form
  • Cover letter (motivation letter)
  • Curriculum vitae in tabular format 
  • Evidence of general university entrance qualifications (school-leaving examination, advanced level qualifications, university entrance examinations)
  • Completion of a Bachelor‘s degree or equivalent

    • Transcript of Records – performance overview
    • Diploma certificate
    • Bachelor's/Master's degrees, diploma examination certificates or diplomas

  • Diploma supplement: if applicable
  • Employer reference letter(s) to prove at least two years’ professional experience 
  • Evidence of English language proficiency at Level B2 or above according to CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Language). 
  • Copy of your passport
  • Passport photograph

Winter Semester start: Students must apply by 31 March or 15 May!

Applications can be submitted throughout the year via the online application platform.

Should you lack certificates or exam results by the application deadlines (i.e., March 31 or May 15), you should send these in once you have obtained them.

International documents

Regulations for applicants with international certificates/documents

Proof of higher education at an institution in another country essentially requires legalisation. Guidelines for legalisation and translation can be found under International.

 

 

For third-party states (outside of the EU and the EEA), the following applies:

If you have submitted documents to Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences (FH Vorarlberg) and there is any doubt about the authenticity of these or the documents are not sufficient for a decision to be made about whether the entrance requirements are met, FH Vorarlberg reserves the right to charge a deposit of EUR 500.00.

This deposit will be refunded if checks prove the authenticity and accuracy of the documents and you are accepted for study.

It may also be necessary for you to send the original documents (or certified copies of these) to FH Vorarlberg before you will be included in the admission procedure. It is therefore in your interests to apply early.

The application process consists two stages

Stage 1
Stage one involves a formal check of your documents. We will shortlist 45 applicants. We will pay particular attention to your motivation letter, your bachelor degree and your work experience.
Stage 2 

Stage two consists of:

  • an interview and
  • a presentation. English proficiency is essential, and you’ll need to have excellent reasoning skills. A newspaper clipping or a journal article will usually provide the thematic focus for the presentation. We may choose topics outside business domains.
We will make an offer to the best 15 applicants (total evaluation of step one and two). 

We are seeking high-calibre candidates and have timed the admission process as follows:

Phase 1:
after March 31st

If we receive your complete application before March 31st we will process them as outlined above. We will consider early interviews for the best 15 applicants. These will take place already in April. We will make an offer to the best five candidates of this round.

The remaining candidates proceed to the regular applicant pool of phase two.

 

Phase 2:  
after May 15th
 
We only consider applications submitted online before May 15th (stage one and two). The interviews will take place in June. 
Final decision: JuneWe inform all applicants our decision by the end of June about the outcome of the admission process.
