The increasing networking of data and the enormous expansion of sensors mean that now, for the first time, we have access to information that enables us to investigate the complex interactions of design processes. At the same time, communicative and design-based processes are becoming increasingly significant in people’s social, political and economic actions.
People’s dependence on the communication structures they create for themselves is growing. Media are ubiquitous and increasingly provide the access to the world that guides our actions.
Researching these causal links and testing alternative models is one of the key tasks our society needs to carry out. Students on the InterMedia master’s degree programme will work on important partial aspects of this research task.
As one of the leading universities of applied sciences in Austria when it comes to research, study and research are closely linked at Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences (FH Vorarlberg).
The research portfolio of FH Vorarlberg: In addition to the work carried out at the three research centres, "Microtechnology", "User-centred Technologies" and "Process and Product Engineering", FH Vorarlberg is actively undertaking research in the fields of "Social Sciences and Economics" and "Energy".
