Marco Spitzar was born in Northern Germany in 1964 and moved to Bludenz (Vorarlberg) with his parents in the 1970s. The textile industry, in particular Getzner Textil, was the reason why his father moved to Vorarlberg. Marco Spitzar visited the Kunstgewerbeschule in Graz and then the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna in the master class for sculpture under Bruno Gironcoli.
