DI Dr. Roland Alton-Scheidl teaches and conducts research in the fields of communication design and sustainability at the FH Vorarlberg in the department of design and also leads the fairkom society. Author of "Ethify Yourself", spokesman of Creative Commons Austria, project leader TERMINO.gv.at, maintainer of fairchat and fairmeeting, experiments with FairCoin, co-founder of the Vorarlberg „Wandeltreppe“ and the „Wandelbündnis“. Born in Zurich in 1964, grown up in Tyrol, studied computer science and media art in Vienna, he has been working as a consultant in the osAlliance network since 1994 for Kapsch, ORF, A1, WKO, VOR, the public administration, SMEs & NPOs. He has been living since the turn of the millennium after the 4-in-1 perspective, has raised 3 children, pays in 3 currencies, uses 3 bikes, heats 3 wood stoves, has no car and has not been flying for a long time, uses upcycled hardware, works exclusively with open source Software.
