Occupational profiles of graduates

Our MSc graduates are much sought after in the job market. Mechatronics is a promising discipline. Depending on your choice of specialisation, you will be demand in mechatronics, electronics or mechanical engineering industry. Whether you choose to go into the private sector, research or to a university — this programme will open many doors.

Your career fields are primarily in planning, design, development, computation and simulation of products and technological processes. You work at the interface between the traditional engineering and information technology. There, you will be in control of the entire system and can solve complex tasks in mechanics, electronics and computer science. Your core skills include the integration of different disciplines into one overall system and the connection of new and existing systems.

Graduates of the Mechatronics Master‘s programme are usually employed in the following sectors:

  • Mechanical and plant engineering
  • Electrical and electronics industry
  • Consumer and capital goods industry
  • Plastics industry
  • Automotive parts supplier
  • Medical technology
  • Tool and mould production

In the service sector, your career options are mainly in development, planning and engineering offices.

Access to further studies

After graduating from the master's degree programme, you receive the "Master of Science in Engineering, MSc" academic degree. This Master qualifies you for further doctor- or PhD-studies at a university. Working at reserach is also a good opportunitiy.

The master's degree programme International Management and Leadership at Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences (FH Vorarlberg) qualifies you for complex leadership tasks in international and intercultural business environments (programme language is English, at least two years`professional experience are mandatory).
