  • The students can mathematically model basic natural processes on the basis of the fundamental laws of physics.
  • The students broadly understand the laws of engineering.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The teaching method comprises a lecture with integrated exercises and experiments which are carried out in the lecture. The use of IT-based teaching materials is heavily integrated into the lecture. Contemporary work-related tools such as computer algebra systems and simulation technology for dealing with physical problems will be presented to the students.

Assessment methods and criteria

The course unit will be concluded with a two-part final written examination testing theory and examples.
