In connection with concrete examples, scientific research results from the following areas are discussed: Sociology, Psychology, Communication Sciences, Cultural History. We analyze individual mental models such as: »The winner takes it all.« »Everything is possible.« »Everything is explainable.« »We are threatened and in danger.« »Everything is in the hands of God.« … |
Learning outcomes |
This course will be held in German. The English translation is for information only. I have learned methods for analyzing the relationship between mental models and perceptible artifacts and rituals. What is to be observed? Who produced the noticeable artifacts? Do the perceived communicates effect changes? What would change if it turns out differently? I experiment with methods of design to make mental models aware. |

This course will be held in German. The English translation is for information only. Short impulse inputs. Group work on concrete projects. Speculative Design The aim is to test methods of problem analysis and the development of scenarios that extend beyond the limits of conventional specialist competencies. The methods are not predetermined, but developed together: Which methods are suitable for translating data, facts and ideas into media communications? How can these communications be found? Which institutional framework is necessary for these communications to be credible and to trigger action-guiding consequences? |

In the LATERAL-thinking format, students create their own works that afterwards should be available to the university. For the assessment are used __the project result of your own work __Collaboration on the joint projects with special regard to the willingness to pick up the ideas of others and contribute to their further development |
