FH Vorarlberg has founded the Regional University Network ("RUN") with six universities in Ireland, Portugal, the Netherlands, Hungary and Finland. The European Commission has appointed this network as a "European University". This initiative is a new form of close cooperation between higher education institutions in Europe. European universities consist of various university networks throughout the EU.
The members* of the RUN-EU alliance are dynamic universities that are strongly anchored in the region and at the same time with proven success and a high level of commitment to teaching and research. The focus is on technical universities and colleges, polytechnic institutes and universities of applied sciences, which share a common background in successful cooperation with industry and regional players in teaching and research.
A European University acts as a model for high quality teaching, research and innovation and also makes a valuable contribution to regional development.
