  • Legal principles (laws, regulations) for the practise of the profession
  • Selected topics such as professional skills, professional obligations, professional qualifications and relevant professional rights
  • Relevant provisions linked to diagnosis and treatment and to medicinal products
  • Custodial measures and the Hospitalisation Act,
  • Residential Homes Act,
  • Patients and Human Rights (Istanbul Protocol), Adult Protection Act, UN Disability Rights Convention, Convention on the Rights of the Child and others and their significance for care
  • Relevant aspects of medical law, employment law, social (insurance) law, paramedic law, criminal law, data protection and liability in the event of damage to health, taking into account responsibility for implementation, negligence on admission and delegation of care
  • Care report

Learning outcomes

Students

  • will be able to describe the various relevant legal areas and
  • recognise the importance of legal regulations for their professional actions and based on various areas of action and
  • develop an awareness of legally relevant situations in everyday professional life
  • will know and take into account relevant data protection and professional confidentiality provisions when practising their profession
  • will be able to clarify the relevance of human and patient rights in their field of work, communicate this to lay people and work to ensure compliance
