Double Degree Bachelor of International Business at KdG and FH Vorarlberg

Karel de Grote Hogeschool, Belgium and FH Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences, Austria established a Double Degreee Programme in Business in 2014.

This Double Degree Programme is based on mutual recognition of the Bachelor's Degree Programmes Bedrijfsmanagement KMO (Business Management SME) at KdG and the International Business Bachelor Degree Programme at FH Vorarlberg.

Important information

The Double Degree Programme (DDP) is:

  • A 3-year BA programme (180 ECTS) in business for undergraduate students in International Business at Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences (FH Vorarlberg) and KMO undergraduate students in Bedrijfsmanagement at Karel de Grote Hogeschool (KdG).

Students enrolled in the DDP will:

  • Study at their home university for the first 4 semesters (first two years of study) of the Bachelor's Degree Programme (120 ECTS).
  • Study in the 5th and 6th semester at the host university (60 ECTS).
  • The Bachelor's Thesis shall be supervised jointly by both institutions. In general, students shall choose their main supervisor from the host institution, additionally, a co-supervisor from the home institution will be appointed.
  • The bachelor's exam shall be organised under the responsibility of both institutions. The commission for the bachelor's exam will consist of representatives from KdG and FH Vorarlberg.

The awarding of the Bachelor's Degree:

  • Students who successfully complete the Double Degree Programme and pass 180 ECTS credits, will be awarded the Bachelor's Degree from KdG and FH Vorarlberg.
  • The structure and content of the Double Degree will be described in the Diploma Supplement.
  • If you are interested in the Double Degree Programme please contact the Academic Coordinator of the International Business Degree Programme, Prof. (FH) Dr. Martin Hebertinger. The application deadline for the Double Degree Programme is the 16th of November.
  • Please consider that you also need to apply as an exchange student at KdG, the application deadline is 31st of May. You will find detailed information regarding being an exchange student at KdG here. The International Office at FH Vorarlberg will support you with the application for the exchange semester at KdG.
  • You can also apply for the Erasmus+ grant.

  • If you are a student from SME Management at KdG and would like to get more detailed information about the Double Degree Programme with FH Vorarlberg, please contact  Mr. Tom Fleerackers. If you are studying International Business at KdG please contact Mr. Werner Boumans. If you want to apply for the exchange semester at FH Vorarlberg, Mrs. Jessica Wyckmans from the International Office at KdG will help you with the application process and all other formalities.
  • Please consider that you need to register at KdG for the Double Degree Programme by the 1st of April.
  • Your application to FH Vorarlberg must be sent by the 15th of May. Detailed information regarding being an exchange student at FH Vorarlberg is available here. Please find information regarding the application procedure here.
