Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity: Challenges for International Human Resource Management in a VUCA World

Among the most challenging concerns for International Human Resource Management are included: Continued efforts to build a global mindset within international firms; use of Human Resource predictive analytics to support the highly demanding talent management process; Human Resource support for rapid and relentless organizational change initiatives; attraction and retention of talented employees across country borders; reconsideration of Human Resource fundamental given a fast-growing gig economy’s contingent workforce and larger investments in training and leadership development. International Human Resource Management is challenged to strengthen relevance, responsiveness and resourcefulness in a VUCA world that is, at the same time, rich with opportunity.
