  • Methodology of fault diagnosis
  • Vibration theory and analysis in the time and frequency range
  • Rotordynamics: physical effects and fault diagnosis
  • Vibration analysis in the time and frequency domain
  • Holistic concepts, Prognostics and Health Management (PHM)
Learning outcomes

The students know:

  • the strategies of condition monitoring as well as their components and focal points and
  • the concepts and tools for vibration analysis and fault diagnosis, primarily for rotating machines (rotor dynamics, rotor-structure interaction).

  • Lectures
  • Laboratory exercise on the magnetically levitated rotor
  • Lab exercise with Matlab

Multiple-choice test (50 %) and two homework assignments (50 %)
