Tips and tricks for academic writing

The development of information literacy and writing skills as key competences for lifelong learning is the central aim of the FHV Writing Centre. The Writing Centre sees itself as a platform that makes a range of services accessible to all groups within the FHV community, and continuously develops and implements new offerings based on current needs.

If you're experiencing difficulties while working on an academic paper, the one-to-one online consultations are a helpful resource for FHV members. The Writing Centre is happy to support you with finding literature, citing sources correctly, narrowing down your topic, structuring your work, reflecting on your self-management, improving your writing style, or communicating in a non-discriminatory way.

What the Writing Centre offers to schools

Pre-scientific work

In a collaboration between the Education Directorate, FHV, and the Vorarlberg State Library, comprehensive preparatory modules for pre-scientific work have been developed to prepare students from academic (AHS) and vocational (BHS) secondary schools for university studies. Within these workshops, students are encouraged to independently develop ideas for their topic selection, take initial steps towards scientific working methods, or begin their research. This support helps students with their final projects and benefits them later in their university studies.
