The right mix of theory and practice
Climate-friendly production. Using resources efficiently. Developing recyclable products in line with the circular economy. Using Engineering and Technology for operational environmental protection. All of this helps to change our world. If you are looking for a degree course that makes sense and secures your own future and that of our planet, then you've come to the right place!
In six semesters, you will become a sought-after specialist in environmental technology and resource management. Natural science and engineering content complement each other perfectly. The course contents are grouped into six modules: Natural Sciences (16 %), Environmental Engineering (19 %), Resource Management (19 %), Environmental Information Systems (14 %), Environmental Workshop (23 %) and Scientific Work (9 %).
The elective offer in semester 5 is your chance to specialize in your field. Depending on your interests or career prospects, you choose an environmental project and one of the two compulsory electives with an environmental engineering or environmental economics focus.
Depending on your interests or career prospects, you choose an environmental project and one of the two compulsory electives with an environmental engineering or environmental economics focus.
The 180 ECTS are divided over the six semesters - including compulsory subjects, compulsory electives, professional practical training and bachelor's thesis - as follows.
Compulsory elective subject: In semester 5, you choose 1 of 2 courses from the module "Workshop Environment"
.- Selected environmental technologies and an environmental project work *EN
- Environmental and resource management in the company and an environmental economics project work *EN
ECTS: Credit points according to the "European Credit Transfer System". In accordance with international standards, 180 ECTS points must be earned over 6 semesters.
Professional practical training - your entry into the job!
In the 6th semester of your Bachelor's degree, you will apply the knowledge you have learned in a practical, everyday working environment. You will spend at least 250 hours (10 to 15 weeks, depending on the level of employment) working on a real project in a company. You will be supervised by a person from the company on site and a university lecturer during the entire internship period and discuss the current procedure. The aim is to gain an in-depth insight into the relevant field of activity and to work on a complex problem as a project. By working on a joint project - which must also be documented - you will learn how to integrate yourself into a working team and collaborate with other departments across the board.
