Work placement possibilities

All degree programmes at FHV have a strong practical orientation.

Moreover, the curricula of many degree programmes have a compulsory practical component in the form of an internship. You can find details about the internship in the descriptions for each of the degree programmes. As a student of FHV you apply independently at companies and organisations for your compulsory internship placement.

FHV has many established and long-standing relationships with private businesses and organisations in Vorarlberg and the surrounding regions. As a student you will receive support from the degree programme administration staff in organising your internship.

If an internship can be completed in another country within Europe, the International Office will support you with your applications for funding through the Erasmus+ programme. The International Office also advises graduates who complete internships abroad after they have completed their programmes and who wish to apply for funding for an Erasmus+ graduate internship.

Information for international degree students and exchange students

Whether or not you are permitted to work in Austria depends on your nationality, the nature of the work and – for third-country nationals – on the type of residence permit. Relevant information on working in Austria can be found on the website of the Austrian Agency for International Cooperation in Education and Research (OeAD).
