Empirical Social Sciences Research Group

The Research Group for Empirical Social Sciences conducts and supports research and development in a broad range of social topics with the aim of supporting the social, cultural and economic development of Vorarlberg, the Lake Constance region and beyond.

The analysis of societal resources, challenges and developments in interdisciplinary research projects is as much part of our range of services as formative and summative empirical evaluations, impact measurement and scientific monitoring of development projects and interventions.

Depending on the knowledge goal, research object and field access, we use both quantitative and qualitative methods of empirical social research as well as mixed-methods designs.

Our team has a high level of methodological competence and interdisciplinary expertise: social science and sociology, psychology and psychotherapy, social work sciences, health and nursing sciences, Business Administration, education, linguistics, literature and media studies as well as historical sciences are among the professions represented and enable, if necessary also in cooperation with other research centres and departments of the FHV, the formation of transdisciplinary project teams individually adapted to each research question.
