Here you will find all the important information you need about applying to study: from admission requirements and application deadlines to the admission procedure. Find out what you need to know before applying and what steps are required for admission.
Step 1 - Apply online for the degree programme of your choice
You will need the following documents in digital form (PDF) for your online application:
▢ Letter of motivation
▢ Tabular CV
▢ Current portrait photo
▢ Passport or ID card
▢ For bachelor's degree programmes: university entrance qualifications
▢ For master's degree programmes: bachelor's degree qualifications
▢ Recognised language certificates and certificates in accordance with FHV admission regulations
▢ Proof of professional experience, if applicable
Submit your application during the application period via the FHV application portal.
Step 2 - Admission process and allocation of study places
Your application documents will be used to check your formal eligibility for the chosen FHV degree programme.
If the number of applications exceeds the number of places available in the respective degree programme, an admission procedure will be carried out. This includes an assessment of your motivation, your CV and your previous professional experience, as well as your previous academic performance (for Bachelor's programmes) or your performance in your previous studies (for Master's programmes). Detailed information on the admission procedure at FHV can be found on the respective programme pages. You will receive dates and all details regarding the admission procedure by email after your application documents have been reviewed.
In general, the ranking in the admission procedure for the allocation of places on an FHV degree programme is determined in two parts:
- Part 1: Application documents including professional experience – weighted 40% for the final ranking
- Part 2: Structured individual interviews – weighted 60% for the final ranking
Step 3 - Confirmation of the study place
You will be informed about your admission to the university of applied sciences programme you have applied for after your documents have been reviewed or after you have completed the admission procedure.
In order to reserve your place on the course, you will be asked to accept the training contract online and, as a next step, to pay the ÖH contribution for compulsory membership of the Austrian National Union of Students at the applicable rate.
The implementation of a degree programme and the individual specialisations and electives is subject to a minimum number of participants.
