Would you like to study at FHV and want to apply now? On this page, you will find step-by-step instructions on what documents you need, what deadlines apply and how the admission process works.
Step 1 - Apply online
You will need the following documents in PDF format:
▢ Letter of motivation
▢ Tabular CV
▢ Current portrait photo (JPG)
▢ Passport or ID card
▢ For bachelor's degree programmes:
- University entrance qualifications (Matura or equivalent qualification) or most recent annual / semester transcript showing grades or
- Vocational school certificate, including Additional Exam transcript
▢ For master's degree programmes:
- Bachelor's degree qualifications
- Diploma Supplement (if available)
- Transcript of Record
- Master "International Management & Leadership": Application documents must be submitted in English!
▢ Recognised language certificates in accordance with FHV admission regulations (German and English: B2)
▢ Proof of professional experience, if applicable
Step 2 - Admission process and allocation of study places
- Your application documents will be used to check your formal eligibility.
- If the number of applications exceeds the number of places available, an admission procedure will be held. This includes an assessment of:
40 % – Application documents, educational background and professional experience. Candidates may be offered a place directly at this stage.
60 % – Structured one-to-one interviews
- You will receive details and dates regarding the admissions process by email once your application has been reviewed.
Step 3 - Confirmation of the study place
- Once your application has been reviewed and the admissions process completed, you will receive either an offer or a rejection.
- If you receive an offer, you secure your place by accepting the training contract online and paying the current ÖH membership fee.
- The implementation of a degree programme, specialisation and elective is subject to a minimum number of participants.

The general application period for degree programmes at FHV begins on 15 November and ends on 31 August of the respective academic year.
Exceptions:
- ‘Health and Nursing Upgrade’ study programme: 1 September 2025 to 20 February 2026
- Applicants from third countries (non-EU or non-EEA, except Switzerland): The application deadline is 1 March
To enrol in a bachelor's programme, you need a general higher education entrance qualification or a relevant professional qualification with additional examinations. A master's programme requires a completed relevant bachelor's degree from a university of applied sciences or an equivalent degree.

Yes, it is possible to apply for several degree programmes at FHV. However, a separate application is required for each degree programme, as the selection and admission procedures are specific to each programme.
