Semester dates 20 hours per week per semester; Tuesday to Friday full day (exceptions reserved), additional attendance days in block weeks. Depending on the choice of specialisation modules from other master's degree programmes also on other weekdays
Specialisations

You can specialize in three of six topics:

  • Sensor systems and drives
  • Embedded systems
  • Robotics
  • Numerical structural and fluid dynamics simulation
  • Production technologies
  • Micro- and nanotechnology
     

Alternatively, a specialisation can be chosen from the Master's degree courses Informatics or Sustainable Energy Systems.

Courses
In order to register for the final master's oral examination, all courses in the curriculum must have been positively completed.

Master's thesis
The topic for your master's thesis will be developed during the seminar on the master's thesis in the 3rd semester. The 4th semester is exclusively available to you for the preparation. You have to present the success of the professional training on a scientific basis through the independent development of a topic.

Final master's examination
Commission oral final master's examination in front of a subject relevant examination senate. This examination consists of the presentation and defense of your master's thesis, an examination discussion that addresses the cross-connections of the topic of the master's thesis to the relevant subjects of the programme structure, as well as an examination discussion on other curriculum-relevant contents.
