Successful participation in GECCO 2025 in Málaga
21.07.2025
The Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference (GECCO) has been bringing together international experts from research and industry every year since 1999 to present and discuss the latest results in the field of genetic and evolutionary algorithms.
David Hutter presented a technical paper on job store scheduling at the conference, in which innovative approaches to optimizing complex production processes were presented.
Hans-Georg Beyer was active on several occasions: he held a tutorial entitled "What You Always Wanted to Know About Evolution Strategies, But Never Dared to Ask", in which he vividly explained key concepts and current developments in the field of evolution strategies. He was also invited as a keynote speaker at the workshop "Analysing Algorithmic Behaviour of Optimization Heuristics", where he provided impetus for a fundamental revision of established benchmarking methods under the title "It is Time for a Revision of COCO BBOB".
The participation of David Hutter and Hans-Georg Beyer highlights the international visibility and academic expertise of Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences in the field of evolutionary optimisation.
