Orange the World: Silent march
What can you expect?
Protection from violence is a human right, yet for many it is not a reality.
This is made clear by the following figures: as of September 2026, Austria has already recorded 18 femicides and 45 cases of serious violence.
As part of Orange the World, the FHV Department of Social Work and Health, the Diversity Unit at the FHV, the FHV Student Union (ÖH) and the WirkRaum charity run by Caritas in Dornbirn are organising a vigil to commemorate the victims and all women* affected by violence.
Ahead of the vigil, there will be the opening of the exhibition “Society.Power.Violence”, which was organised by individual students from across different departments and funded by the FHV Students’ Union.
At 5.30 pm, the silent march through the city of Dornbirn to the Caritas WirkRaum will begin. A reading will then take place there to commemorate the victims and all women* affected by violence. The exhibition opening and the vigil will be accompanied by music from the women’s choir “Freya Klang”.
