Around 480 graduates celebrate graduation at graduation ceremony

20.10.2025
Around 480 bachelor's and master's graduates of the FHV celebrated a special day: they celebrated their graduation.

This occasion was solemnly celebrated during the graduation ceremony at the Kulturhaus Dornbirn. FHV Rector Regine Kadgien presented the academic certificates. 22 graduates were awarded prizes for their outstanding achievements.

While 719 first-semester students had recently started their studies at the FHV, around 480 bachelor's and master's graduates completed their academic education at the university. The graduation ceremony took place on Friday and Saturday to mark the occasion. On these two days, the Kulturhaus Dornbirn was all about successful graduations and awards. In four ceremonies, graduates from more than 20 Bachelor's and Master's degree programs from the Departments of Engineering and Technology, Business, Design and Social Work and Health received their certificates.

Anniversary - 30th graduation

The graduation ceremony took place for the 30th time this year. FHV Rector Regine Kadgien explains: "The anniversary shows how strongly the FHV has established itself as an educational and research institution in the region over the past three decades and how many successful careers have started here. We would like to congratulate this year's graduates on completing their studies. They have reached an important milestone for their future careers. They and their families can be proud of this. The knowledge they have acquired and their new skills will enable them to shape the future in their respective fields." Furthermore, the graduates take a strong FHV network with them from their semester dates, which will continue to offer them a valuable exchange in the future. To date, around 8,500 graduates have completed their university studies in Vorarlberg as highly trained specialists.

Award winners honored

In addition to the certificates, 22 graduates also received a recognition award for outstanding achievements during their studies, which was awarded by the "Strong Partners" and other partner companies of the FHV. The importance of high quality education was emphasized by Harald Sonderegger, President of the Provincial Parliament and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the FHV: "The FHV trains people who shape the future - in Engineering and Technology, in Social and Health Care, in Design and far beyond. Graduates are in demand because they combine practice with reflection, innovation with responsibility and knowledge with humanity. In doing so, they make a valuable contribution to Vorarlberg and far beyond its borders." In addition to Sonderegger, State Councillor Barbara Schöbi-Fink and Harald Moosbrugger, Head of the Science and Continuing Education Department of the State of Vorarlberg, also congratulated the graduates. "Education and training are the key to a successful future. This applies both to young people and to our state as an important educational and business location. As an interface between students, researchers and companies, the FHV has an important role to play. The Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences is one of the best in Austria. It has long since become a training ground for Vorarlberg's companies," emphasized Provincial Councillor Schöbi-Fink.

77 percent have a job offer

The FHV is closely networked with companies from Vorarlberg and the region. This cooperation is reflected on the one hand in a wide range of research projects and assignments, and on the other in joint projects with students, for example in the form of practice-oriented bachelor's or master's theses within a partner company. FHV students establish excellent contacts with Business and Management during their studies. Although the graduation certificates have only just been presented, 77 percent are already firmly committed to an employer. Experience shows that graduates can choose from many job offers and get off to a flying start within a very short time.
