Engineering and Technology meets Business and Management

27.03.2026
Zeynep's path in the FHV dual study program: practical, interdisciplinary, international

Zeynep Cevik is studying Engineering and Management at the FHV and combines her studies as a dual student with a job at the Liebherr plant in Nenzing. What drives her is her enthusiasm for two worlds: Engineering and Technology and Business and Management. "I am fascinated by interface thinking: understanding technical contexts and evaluating them from a Business and Management perspective at the same time." It is precisely this combination that the 22-year-old sees as the key to her future: versatile, challenging and full of opportunities. The interdisciplinary structure of the course opens up numerous career prospects for her - a freedom that she greatly appreciates.

Direct exchange

Zeynep made a conscious decision in favor of the FHV. The decisive factors were the high level of practical relevance and the close cooperation with companies. "The atmosphere is personal and appreciative. The direct exchange with the lecturers motivates me to get actively involved and think along with them. I haven't experienced that at a large university." Everyday study life is varied and practical: project work, business games, teamwork, laboratory exercises and excursions are just as much a part of it as dedicated lecturers with extensive industry experience. In addition to specialist know-how, the course also places great importance on social skills. "Courses such as Intercultural Awareness or Communication prepare us very well for international and interdisciplinary teams."

Study trip to South Africa

A particular highlight of her studies was a two-week study trip to South Africa. "I not only learned a lot in terms of my subject, but also gained new perspectives. Immersing myself in a different culture made me more open-minded and broadened my perspective."

Practical experience in the company

Parallel to her studies, Zeynep works 50% at Liebherr. This not only keeps her financially independent, but also gives her valuable practical experience. As part of her rotation plan, she rotates through a wide range of departments - from controlling to production engineering, product development and management, quality management, innovation management and sales. "This gives me an understanding of how a company works as a whole and how everything interacts." Despite her studies and job, she still has room for balance: Zeynep plays the violin in an orchestra, loves skiing and finds the perfect contrast to her everyday studies on a motorcycle.
