Focus on Business and Management: The changing world of work

28.05.2025
How are companies in Vorarlberg responding to the shortage of skilled workers, digitalization and new requirements for modern work design? These questions were addressed at the 59th Focus on Business and Management, where the Vorarlberg HR Barometer 2025 was presented for the first time.

More than 120 participants, including numerous HR managers, HR employees and interested parties from Business and Management and academia, followed the presentation of the study results and actively participated in the professional exchange. Moderated by Bernd Schwendinger, program director of International Business Administration, the evening offered well-founded insights into regional HR practices and trends. Study author and FHV lecturer Hannes Tschütscher presented the key results of the survey and supplemented them with current scientific perspectives. The consistently positive response impressively illustrated the need for data-based guidance in a changing world of work.

Impulses for the HR work of tomorrow

The Personnel Barometer is based on a survey of HR managers that was conducted as part of the FHV Job Fair. The content was based on current key topics from HR management practice - from recruiting and salary transparency to home office regulations and the question of whether compulsory attendance is actually becoming more important again. The strategic HR focal points for the coming years also played a central role.

Practical challenges were then discussed in an open Q&A session - from flexible working hours to the challenges of the new EU Transparency Directive and the topic of gender pay. In the informal discussion at the end, it became clear that the issues of the present are complex, making it all the more important to have sound knowledge, clear perspectives and the courage to break new ground.

The next Blickpunkt Business and Management will take place on September 30, 2025:
