Free WISTO service: ESG check according to VSME

VSME: optional instead of mandatory

Admittedly, the European regulations that oblige large companies to report on sustainability pose a challenge. Although SMEs are not directly covered by the reporting obligation, as suppliers to large companies they are also increasingly being asked about their environmental, social and governance (ESG) parameters. Irrespective of this, sustainability and transparency are now crucial for Business and Management success.

Practical solution for SMEs

The new VSME standard now offers SMEs a practical, efficient framework for systematically recording, analyzing and reporting sustainability data. The major advantages of VSME are that it is based on the EU's reporting obligations for large companies, making it more relevant and standardizing requests for ESG data from banks, investors, funding bodies, customers and large companies to SMEs. "In line with the current requirements, we are also continuously developing our services and supporting SMEs with a free, confidential ESG check in accordance with the VSME standard," explains Konstanze Vetter from Wirtschafts-Standort Vorarlberg GmbH (WISTO).

Structured process & clear result

The ESG sustainability check according to VSME is carried out in a personal meeting (duration approx. 2 hours). The current status of the company in the areas of ecology, social affairs and corporate governance is assessed together and the ESG data that is already available - such as greenhouse gas emissions, water consumption or material flows - is checked. At the end, the company receives a clear, well-structured list of key figures.
