KINDERUNI Vorarlberg celebrated its graduation ceremony

The summer semester of 2026 at KINDERUNI Vorarlberg once again offered a diverse program. The event series is jointly organized by FHV, Stella Vorarlberg Private University of Music, and the Vorarlberg University of Education. In total, the six lectures attracted 698 registrations. Among other things, the young students explored topics such as “Build Your Own Living Space” and “Superheroes, Avatars, and Pop Stars.” Anyone who attended at least three lectures qualified for a certificate or an academic KINDERUNI title.    

Opening the doors 

“Educational opportunities begin where children—regardless of their background—can discover their curiosity and explore their questions. With KINDERUNI, we’re opening the doors to our universities together and showing young people: Science is exciting and accessible,” explained FHV Rector Regine Kadgien at the graduation ceremony, emphasizing: “The fact that the three universities in Vorarlberg are pooling their expertise makes this program particularly diverse and valuable.”
Provincial Councilor Barbara Schöbi-Fink and Regine Kadgien presented 19 certificates—four bachelor’s degrees, eight master’s degrees, one doctoral degree, and one dual doctoral degree—to the visibly proud children. Among those offering congratulations was Elisabeth Haas, rector of the Vorarlberg University of Education. State Councilor Barbara Schöbi-Fink explained: “With KINDERUNI, our three universities bring their diverse strengths together into a single program. In doing so, they provide young people with immediate access to Vorarlberg’s higher education and scientific landscape. This collaboration strengthens a culture of science that shares knowledge, reaches people, and makes science visible as a natural part of our society.”    

Science for all generations 

The collaboration among the three universities extends beyond the KINDERUNI. With the new event series “Treffpunkt Hochschule Vorarlberg,” the Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences (FHV), Stella Vorarlberg, and the Vorarlberg University of Education are making scientific findings accessible to an adult audience as well. Three times per semester, a one-hour lecture presented in accessible language takes place at lunchtime at one of the universities. The FHV kicks off the series on October 7, 2026, with “AI—Responsibility Remains with Humans.” This will be followed on November 11 at Stella Vorarlberg by the lecture “Jimi Hendrix and Postmodernism.” On January 13, 2027, the Vorarlberg University of Education will host “Don’t You Learn to Read in School!? The Problem of Reading and Ways Out of the Reading Crisis.” All events will be held in a hybrid format and can be attended in person or online. Following the in-person events, there will be an opportunity for personal discussion.

About KINDERUNI Vorarlberg

KINDERUNI Vorarlberg is a joint educational initiative of the FHV – Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences, the Stella Vorarlberg Private University of Music, and the Vorarlberg University of Teacher Education. It is aimed at children aged eight to twelve. Lecturers from the three institutions, as well as experts from Business and Management and society, teach technical, scientific, cultural, and social topics in a child-friendly and engaging manner. KINDERUNI Vorarlberg has been in existence since 2005.
